Gagarin Tourbillon Watch Commemorates 50-Year Space Travel Anniversary

Swiss watch-maker Bernhard Lederer Universe has created a timepiece to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Russian astronaut Yuvi Gagarin’s historic flight into space. Limited to only 50 units, the Gagarin Tourbillon is inspired by the Vostok space capsule, which successfully completed its test flight into space on 25 March 1961. The timepiece features a 60-second orbital flying tourbillon that rotates counterclockwise around the dial counter in 108 minutes. An integrated rotating magnifying glass allows appreciation of details on the dial, while the tourbillon boasts a mechanical manual winding movement, providing a power reserve of approximately 80 hours. Additional features include a case made out of Platinum 950, a sapphire crystal display, a black hand-stitched alligator strap with a platinum tang buckle, a micro-engraved text with highlights of Yuri Gagarin’s flight and a complex movement with 264 components and 35 jewels.
