Buffalo is preparing to drop their newest portable BDXL-compatible Blu-ray writer ‘BRXL-PC6U2′ for the Japanese market. Measuring only 145mm x 153mm x 19mm and weighing just 349 grams, this slim drive supports for the new BDXL standard, which means it can write data on 100GB/128GB Blu-ray discs. On top of that, the drive also provides write speeds of 6x for BD-R SL/DL (single-layer/dual-layer), 4x for BD-R 3-layer/4-layer, 2x for BD-RE, 8x for DVD-R/+R/+RW, 6x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM, 24x for CD-R and 16x for CD-RW. In terms of connectivity ports, it comes with two USB 2.0 connection interfaces for ensuring a much more stable writing process. The Buffalo BRXL-PC6U2 will become available in Japan in late March for around $275. [Softpedia]
