The computer giant, Apple has made it to the news once again by announcing that they will be releasing the iPad 2 in India officially. The news doesn’t come as a surprise. Although this move has been taken by Apple after 2 whole months of releasing the their later tablet, this was still pretty evident as they wouldn’t want to miss out on 750+ Million cell phone subscribers currently in India. Surely it is a very big market to miss-out on.
This comes as a good news to many Apple fanatics living in India. Most of the bloggers (mostly tech bloggers) love to put their hands on a device like the iPad 2 and then get the un-boxing videos uploaded on YouTube or other video sharing sites. iPad 2 is a fantastic device for fans as well as professionals. Bloggers can use it to write on the move and stay up to date, no matter where they are.
Apple has been very peculiar about not launching their products in India. India is more of a dumping ground for the computer giant. India is yet to see an official launch of the iPhone 4 and there is no word about whether it will be available here officially or not. Airtel and Vodafone India, two biggest private cellular carriers made an announcement earlier that they will bring iPhone 4 to India in September or August 2011. This comes as a surprise since the iPhone 5 is still in works. It has been around a year since Apple launched iPhone 4 in US market.
However, this time they will be launching the iPad 2 in India and have already featured the device on the Apple India website. They had never put iPad on the Apple India website before. Apple was set to release iPad 2 in a lot of countries on MArch 25 but unfortunately India was missing from the list. A senior official from a leading Apple partner did however say they will be launching the iPad 2 in India just “in around 2 weeks after the 25 March in a lot of countries”.
