Apple has officially unveiled the new iPad 2. The gadget features a dual-core Apple A5 processor, which is up to two times faster than its predecessor. The iPad 2 is also 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter than its predecessor. The new Apple tablet features both a front- and a back-facing camera for capturing videos and still pictures and a 9.7-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen multitouch display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. The front-facing camera is for FaceTime video calling, while the back-facing unit can capture 720p HD videos. The new iPad 2 will be released in the US on March 11th, 2011 for $499 upwards.
