This is just in. There might be some hope for iPhone 4 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.26.08 baseband users. After waiting for almost a year, iPhone 4′s newer basebands can at last be unlocked using a Turbo SIM. Turbo SIMs haven’t worked ever since the release of iOS 3.0 but the new YouTube video is to be believed, it is finally back and can now unlock any all all baseband and firmwares available for the iPhone 4.

A commentor from the iPhone-Dev team got in touch with the sales representative of Turbo SIM and asked him about production and proof. The reply read something like this:

“It’s going to be available beginning next Monday and the cost is USD $40/sim, minimum order is 50 pieces.” And shortly after the commentor got another reply regarding the genuineness of the Unlock. “We have video to show this product is works” read the reply.

Do we think it is genuine? That is a tricky question. Anything is possible however if they do have it working on the iPhone 4, why is the minimum order 50 pieces. No one is going to spend a couple of grand on a product no one knows is genuine. If the product works, it makes more sense to sell the pieces individually at a higher margin. Maybe they are just scared that the Turbo SIM won’t work and they can atleast make a good $2000 out of the deal. Is it genuine? Could be. But there is no way to know until we see it with our own eyes (a video won’t suffice). Like everyone else, we have our fingers crossed for the Unlock for iPhone 4′s newer baseband.
